Let’s Talk 14 Day Reset…

For those of you that I’m friends with on Facebook, you may have seen my live tonight about the 14 day reset…or because of those fun algorithms, you may not have. So let’s chat about what I’ve been doing for the past week and will be continuing to do for the next week.

The 14 Day reset’s number one goal is to reduce inflammation in our bodies. Often, a by-product of losing inflammation is losing inches and/or weight. So, what is it you ask? This graphic shows you the 5 components of doing the 14 day reset.

So, like I said, my family has been drinking it for a decade. Normally, when I’m not doing a reset, I just fill a shot glass of it in the morning, put a drop of Thieves oil in it for Immune support and drink it down. When I’m on top of things and doing it every day like I should, it really helps to keep the sickies at bay. My oldest kiddo would drink it by a huge glassful if we would let her and she’s been that way forever. I’ve a video of her at about 18 months old crying because I wouldn’t let her have more.

I started on Monday, February 12th. In one week, I have way less numbing in my hands when I sleep and even though I’m up more in the night because I’m drinking so much more water; I’m falling asleep quicker to start and getting back to sleep faster than before. I used to just lay awake for hours if I woke up in the night trying to get back to sleep and by the 3rd day doing this, that wasn’t happening at all. I also LOVE coffee, but I don’t love almond milk coffee creamer and I am trying to cut the dairy way down so I had no coffee Monday – Friday. I typically drink at least a full pot a day using sugar free creamer. On top of that, I made not one, but two batches of dessert on two different days for Parent/Teacher conferences and I did not touch either of them. I have always been a sugar addict so that’s unheard of for me. I LOVE baked goods! I also made it through Valentine’s Day without touching any junk food. J and I had our Valentine’s date last night and went to Outback. Normally we would get a bloomin’ onion as an appetizer, eat one or two loaves of bread plus our meals. Last night, we both skipped the appetizer, I didn’t touch the bread and just had my meal (6 oz sirloin, lobster tail, loaded mash potatoes and the baked potato soup) and was plenty full. Was it completely on plan? Nope, but I felt good about my choices and was satisfied. Doing this, for me, is all about finding a plan that I can live with and still be able to eat the things I love in moderation.
